Introduction to Open Water Swimming
This is a 2 hour class at Aquatic Park San Francisco for people who are new to open water, new to cold water but intrigued but swimming in our very own back yard!
We cover the basics of cold water and hypothermia ( how to prevent it!) We touch on the tides and currents of the SF Bay and other local swimming spots. We practice swimming in a group and how to swim as straight as one can.
It’s a warm ( pun intended) welcoming environment that will help you get your feet wet ( yet another pun) and learn to enjoy one of the most varied swimming pools in California if not the world.
You must be able to swim at least 400 yards unassisted, but you don’t have to be confident. You WILL be confident after this class!
Cost is $55pp with a maximum of 5 swimmers per coach.
